Will New ICANN Rules Fight Domain Transfer Fraud?
The WHOIS database is one of the great farms from which spammers harvest e-mail addresses, so many domain owners intentionally put in false contact information. Even the other contact information is often false out of privacy concerns. This information is usually separate from the registrar's billing database; while false information in the contact records usually violates registrar policy, as long as they get paid they usually look the other way. And it's not illegal to put false contact information in a WHOIS record, although there has been some talk in Congress of making it so. .
Lord Carey backs MPs over blasphemy laws
Gillian Gibbons was jailed after allowing schoolchildren to name a teddybear after the prophet Mohammed. She was later pardoned after diplomatic protests from Britain. In the Commons tomorrow, MPs will debate an amendment to the current Criminal Justice Bill that would effectively abolish existing legal protections for Anglican Christianity. The amendment is being tabled by Evan Harris, a Liberal Democrat front-bencher, Frank Dobson, a former Labour cabinet minister, and David Wilshire, a Conservative backbencher. As well as Lord Carey, they are supported by figures including Lord Harries of Pentregarth, the former Bishop of Oxford, in a letter in the Daily Telegraph today. Other signatories include Philip Pullman, the author of the His Dark Materials trilogy, Ricky Gervais, the comedian who created the BBC comedy The Office and Richard Dawkins, the Oxford academic and atheist and Nick Hytner the director of the National Theatre.
Meet Magellan

While here in New York, Bens portable GPS helped me meet up with my friend, Kaye Tyapon-Bay at Starbucks at the corner of Lexington and East 40th Streets. She said, Without a GPS device, it is hard to go around the city driving. There are many one-way streets. One could easily miss a turn and spend the next 15 or 20 minutes trying to find your way. I also met up with my college buddy, Paul Albano, now a senior sales associate of Corcoran Real Estate Group. Paul said, My portable GPS recalculates in real-time the easiest route, and gives me traffic updates. It helps me get to my client meetings on time. Accuracy? Factors such as dense foliage, tall buildings, electronic interference, and other atmospheric factors affect accuracy.

Actually, it is quite simple," Tom Kelly, BAA communication director, told BBC radio. "What passengers should do is talk to their airline. That was the position before the restrictions were introduced and that is now the position again. "The good news today is that passengers actually can have a choice." BAA will look to lift the baggage limit at Gatwick by the end of March after extra security lanes have been put in place, Kelly said. Continued... .
